Combination Method Cleaning techniques
Our Combination method is the most common method used at UK Carpet Care Ltd for new clients we have either not visited before or those that have had their carpets cleaned incorrectly in the past.
It involves a pre-spray, tailored to the carpet fibres and soiling levels, being applied by a rotary buffer machine fitted with a tailored brush attachment, which is then rinsed out with a HWE machine system.
Our Combination method
This method uses alkaline products to break down and suspended the acidic soil in the carpet fibres and an acidic rinse solution in the HWE machine tank to remove the soil and neutralise the pre-spray.
• Pre power vacuum to all specified areas
• Move furniture
• Pre-spot removal (any areas where dust and dirt has gathered to the surface of the fibres where sticky)
• Apply pre-spray to fibres (Woolsafe if wool or nylon fibres) to break down soil
• Agitation to the fibres by rotary scrub to force pre-spray deeper into fibres and turn soil into moisture.
• Hot water extraction (with acidic products if wool or nylon to ensure colours are strong and fibres feel soft) to remove pre-spray and suspended soil in fibres.
• Bonnet absorption to lift moisture and remove any soil that extraction process has not (due to airflow, depth of fibres etc)
• Brush and set fibres
• Return furniture to its rightful home, put protective pads or blocks under feet to prevent dyes or rust staining the carpets.
• Carpets dry in approximately 2-4 hours.
Revitalising Your Carpets: Post-cleaning fiber treatment
After the soil has been removed from the fibres, the pile is brushed and set to remove any cleaning system tool marks, and to lay fibres flat to speed the drying process.
