1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions form the basis of all contracts between UK Carpet Care Ltd (“the Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) and the customer (“you” or “your”) for the provision of cleaning, protection, and repair services. By booking our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Services Provided
We provide professional cleaning, protection, and repair services including (but not limited to): Carpet and rug cleaning; Upholstery and leather cleaning; Tile, stone, and hard floor cleaning; Stain protection and deodorising treatments; Spot and stain removal; Fabric and fibre repair; Commercial cleaning and maintenance services. All work is carried out by fully trained technicians to recognised industry standards (NCCA, IICRC, and WoolSafe Approved).
3. Estimates and Quotations
All prices quoted are based on the information provided at the time of quotation and are valid for 30 days. Estimates may be subject to adjustment if the condition of the item or area has changed since inspection. Where access or on-site conditions differ from those described, additional charges may apply. VAT is chargeable at the current UK rate.
4. Minimum Charge
A minimum call-out charge applies to all bookings unless the total value exceeds this amount. You will be advised of this minimum at the time of booking.
5. Access, Parking & Preparation
Adequate access and parking close to the property must be provided. Additional fees may apply for properties with restricted access or multi-storey access without lifts. Please ensure the area to be cleaned is clear of personal items and small furniture where possible. Our technicians may assist with moving light furniture but, for health and safety reasons, cannot move heavy items such as wardrobes, large beds, or display cabinets.
6. Cleaning Process and Results
We will select the most suitable cleaning method for each material based on fibre type, soiling level, and manufacturer recommendations. While every effort is made to achieve the best possible results, stain removal cannot be guaranteed. Results depend on factors such as fibre type, age, previous cleaning attempts, and type of stain. Normal cleaning will remove general dirt and dust. Specialist stain treatments are chargeable separately. Protection treatments may alter texture temporarily; this will normalise after a few days of use and vacuuming. Pet and insect treatments may require multiple applications to achieve full effectiveness.
7. Drying Times
Approximate drying times vary by system, fabric, and environment: Carpet Cleaning: typically dry within 0–12 hours; Upholstery Cleaning: typically dry within 2–14 hours; Leather Cleaning: ready for use immediately after cleaning; Rug Cleaning: fully dry on return to your premises. Airflow, temperature, and humidity affect drying speed. We can provide advice or drying equipment where necessary.
8. Payment Terms
Payment is due immediately upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing. Commercial clients with approved accounts are subject to 14-day payment terms unless stated otherwise on the invoice. Accepted payment methods: cash, debit card, credit card, or bank transfer. A small processing fee may apply for credit card payments. Late payments are subject to interest and recovery costs in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
9. Deposits
A 50% deposit may be required for rug cleaning or any service requiring collection and return. The remaining balance is due upon delivery or completion. Deposits are non-refundable once work or collection has commenced.
10. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Appointments cancelled with less than 2 working days’ notice are subject to a cancellation charge. If the appointment is rebooked and completed, this charge may be waived at our discretion. If work has commenced and you choose to cancel, you will be charged for work already completed. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, domestic customers have the right to cancel within 14 days of booking unless the work is agreed to start within that period.
11. Damage or Complaints
We take great care to protect your property and furnishings. Any accidental damage must be reported to us within 7 days of completion. Claims made after this period cannot be considered. We are not liable for: Pre-existing damage or wear to fabric or flooring; Weak seams, backing, or adhesives affected by cleaning; Colour loss, shrinkage, pile distortion, or marks previously hidden by soil; Poor fitting, delamination, or rippling due to age or installation issues. If you are unhappy with any aspect of our work, please contact us within 7 days for a complimentary re-visit and review.
12. Liability
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount paid for the service in question. We do not accept liability for loss of business, consequential losses, or delays beyond our control. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
13. Commercial Clients
For contract or one-off commercial work, all agreed terms are binding upon signature of quotation or confirmation by email. We reserve the right to amend prices if site conditions or scope of work change. Clients must ensure safe and unrestricted access to all work areas during the agreed timeframe. Commercial invoices are subject to 14 or 30-day terms depending on contract agreement.
14. Data Protection & Privacy
We only collect information necessary to manage your booking and maintain service records. All data is handled in accordance with the UK GDPR (Data Protection Act 2018). Your details will never be sold or shared with third parties without consent. You may request access to, or deletion of, your data at any time by contacting us in writing.
